Our Staff in Tutoring Center
We are a group of professional mathematicians and scientists with an extensive background in children's education – from preschool through college.
In 1993 we began the Tutoring Center of Mathematics and Science (Buffalo Grove, Illinois) to provide educational support in math, science, and standardized testing to students of all ages.
During our years of service, we have helped thousands of students advance academically and earn scholarships and admission to prestigious universities.
Arkady Rivtis:
tutoring center director, Ph.D in Physics (minor mathematics), scientist and educator with over 35 years’ experience in teaching, member of the New York Academy of Sciences since 1994, listed in Who’s Who in America (2004) and Who’s Who in American Education (2005).
Marina Zimbovsky:
tutor – graduate of the University of Chicago, BS in biology (minor chemistry)
Jesse Pole:
tutor- graduate of the University of Chicago, BS in philosophy (minor mathematics)
Marina Rivtis:
tutor – graduate of the University of Illinois, BS in Computer Science (minor mathematics)
Veronika Berger:
tutor – currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a Psychology Major and a Spanish minor. Tutors various levels of Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ACT/SAT prep, and language courses (English, Spanish, Russian).
Rita Nisman:
tutor – graduate of the Northwestern University, BS in Biology, (minors in chemistry and psychology). Currently a Second-Year Medical Student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, specializes in Advanced Biology and Chemistry courses as well as various levels of Mathematics.
Barry Lapping:
Stevenson High School - (1999 to present); graduate of the Illinois State University, B.S. Mathematics; M.S. Math Education - DePaul University; Teaching Certification - Northeastern Illinois University.
Daniella Brutman:
tutor - currently attending Lake Forest College as a dual Biology and Chemistry major with a minor in Psychology and a pre-med intent. Tutors various levels of Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and ACT/SAT prep courses.
Alec Kozarovitsky:
tutor - currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a Computer Engineering major. This University has the highest-ranking engineering program among public universities in the United States. Specializes in the tutoring of advanced levels of Mathematics and Physics courses.
Alex Petti:
tutor - will be attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in the fall of 2009 as a Biomedical Engineering major. Tutors in various levels of mathematics and science courses.
Lana Spivak:
tutor - graduated from the University of Michigan in three years with high honors and majors in Biology and Chemistry. Tutors Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics courses. Often gives private lessons in Organic Chemistry, yielding astonishing results.
Artem Sergeyenko:
tutor - currently attending Northwestern University as a double major in Biology and Psychology, was a WYSE state finalist from Adlai E. Stevenson High School. Tutors all levels of Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
Yelena Rivtis:
tutor - graduated from the University of Michigan in three years with high honors and majors in Political Science and Philosophy. Currently attending Penn State Law School. Tutors various levels of Mathematics, English, and Reading courses.
Alina Blank:
tutor - solicited an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Harper College, and will be attending Lake Forest College to pursue a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education as well. Tutors young children in Mathematics between the ages of four and ten.
Lana:
Piano Teacher; graduate of the College of Music and Art (Moscow), BA in Music.
Leonid Bondar:
chess coach – highest category International arbiter and chess master.
